Nauru Plant, Fish and Bird Names - a preliminary listing

This compilation is the result of a joint effort between the various Government of Nauru departments and sectors including nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) such as Atoll Research Programme and USP Extension Services.

The book is a simplified version of various materials on the fauna and flora of Nauru and is intended to be used by schools, amateur fauna and flora lovers and the general public at large. It is envisioned that this material could be used in later work on the compilation of a more detailed work on the fauna and flora of Nauru with coloured pictures and detailed information on the traditional uses and cultural significance of various plants, fish and birds. Other fauna and flora such as alga, mosses, insects, etc. not listed here may be added at a later stage.
