As noted in the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, climate change is one of the most important drivers of biodiversity loss" and is projected to further adversely affect the role of

biodiversity as a source of goods and services. The impacts of climate change on biodiversity have been of major concern to the Convention on Biological Diversity since 2002 when, following a request from the Conference of the Parties and the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA), an Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group was established to carry

DKAN is an open-source data management platform. It treats data as content so that you can easily publish, manage, and maintain your open data no matter the size of your team or the level of technical expertise.

The Nauru Environmental Data Portal provides an easy way to find, access and reuse national data. Our main purpose is to provide easy access and safe storage for Environmental datasets to be used for monitoring, evaluating, and analysing environmental conditions and trends to support environmental planning, forecasting, and reporting requirements at all levels. We encourage you to use publicly available government data to analyse and develop tools and applications to benefit all Nauruan’s.

This datasets gives an overview of the Nauru Island Landcover, with country-level summary of the different landcover classes and designation. From spatial maps and GIS related datasets for state of the environment reporting.

In 2015 a BIORAP was conducted in Nauru through the Department of Commerce Industry and Evironment by SPREP and other partners. The purpose of the Nauru BIORAP was to improve the state of knowledge of marine and terrestrial ecosystems, to provide a scientific basis for the conservation and management of nationally, regionally and globally important ecosystems and species. A particular focus was to identify areas of conservation value and to investigate opportunities for establishing marine and terrestrial protected areas.

This resource contains satellite imagery for Nauru. The imagery was collected on May 9, 2020.

More specially, this resource contains a raster file of RGB imagery at 10-meter resolution, using Level-2A products when available. Level-2A products include atmospheric correction and represent bottom of atmosphere reflectance values in the images. When Level-2A products were not available, Level-1C (top of atmosphere) products were used.

The image was mosaicked from the following individual Sentinel-2 scenes:
